WorldMind secures multi‑million‑yuan angel round led by Genesis Capital for embodied AI world‑model R&D

WorldMind, a startup building AI world‑models under the Chinese brand name Huanyu Xinsheng, has closed a multi‑million‑yuan angel financing round backed by Genesis Capital, with PointStone Capital acting as the exclusive financial adviser. Founded in September 2026, the firm's core team focuses on the intersection of embodied intelligence, AI world‑models and brain science; proceeds from the latest fundraising will be channelled into team expansion, computing infrastructure build‑out and foundational model training.

Ex-Tencent, ByteDance AI expert Sun Peng joins Astribot to lead robotics reinforcement learning push

Dr. Sun Peng, former head of the agent team at Tencent Robotics X, has officially joined Astribot (Stardust Intelligence), where he will lead research, engineering and real‑world deployment for robotic reinforcement learning. A Tsinghua University PhD in Automation with more than a decade of expertise in reinforcement learning and post‑training for large models, Sun previously conducted research on deep learning and robot control at Tencent Robotics X and delivered end‑to‑end active target‑following capabilities for wheeled robots; he later moved to ByteDance AI Lab and the Seed team to contribute to projects including mathematical‑reasoning agent DeltaProver and large‑model RLHF and post‑training workflows, accumulating hands‑on experience across agent‑oriented R&D and commercial roll‑outs. Astribot, Shenzhen's sixth embodied‑AI unicorn valued above 10 billion yuan, pioneered mass‑produced cable‑driven humanoid robots that mimic human tendon‑driven actuation, and after over three years of iteration has built two product lines, the S1 and T1, targeting industrial, research and household use cases.

Unitree claims world first with world-model-driven autonomous humanoid combat

Unitree, the Chinese humanoid robot maker, released a video on Monday showing what it called the world's first fully autonomous humanoid combat driven by a real-time world model.

The company said its UnifoLM-X2-1.0 model has broken through bottlenecks in instantaneous planning, decision-making, and dynamic interactive execution, enabling high-dynamic, highly interactive real-time future prediction and planning that allows a humanoid robot to engage in fully autonomous combat.

Unlike previous demonstrations that relied on preset programmes or remote control, the breakthrough enables the robot to independently predict future states and make decisions through its world model. Unitree said the achievement validates the foundational feasibility of large-scale deployment of humanoid robots driven by world models.

Changsha Changtai Robotics secures EU CE certification for embodied AI winding robot, a first for Chinese industrial embodied AI

Changsha Changtai Robotics Co., Ltd. has obtained EU CE certification for its self-developed embodied intelligence winding robot, making it the first Chinese industrial embodied AI robot product to receive the certification, which grants the company regulatory clearance to enter the European market, the company said. Founded in 2010 and recognised as a national-level "Little Giant" enterprise specialising in R&D and manufacturing of intelligent high-end equipment under Hunan Zhongnan Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Changtai Robotics previously developed "Changsha No. 1", Hunan province's first industrial robot with fully independent intellectual property rights.

Chinese service robots draw spotlight at IFA 2026 with laundry, climbing and gardening capabilities

Chinese companies showcased a range of service robots at the IFA 2026 consumer electronics fair in Berlin, drawing attention as the integration of artificial intelligence with multiple technologies enables robots to penetrate deeper into daily life and diverse application scenarios, with wheeled service robots capable of recognising, sorting, washing and folding garments, a climbing cleaning robot using bionic tracks and 3D perception to navigate between floors, and a lawn-mowing robot equipped with a robotic arm for clearing obstacles, picking fruit and watering plants – illustrating how Chinese manufacturers are expanding robotic functionality beyond single-purpose automation toward multi-task household and commercial environments.

HiDream.ai launches embodied world model HiDream-O1-Embodied, tops RoboColiseum robustness leaderboard

HiDream.ai has released HiDream-O1-Embodied, an embodied world model built on a native full-modal architecture that unifies image, video, 3D and action signals into a single representation framework to enhance robotic physical perception and dynamic prediction capabilities, the company said, marking a strategic step toward building a unified world model foundation that bridges understanding, reasoning and execution across modalities; concurrently, the model made its debut on the embodied AI evaluation platform RoboColiseum – a simulation-based benchmark featuring 78 high-fidelity tasks across instruction following, spatial understanding, robustness and general manipulation – and topped the Robustness sub-leaderboard with an average score of 0.692, a category widely regarded as the most challenging for testing stability and generalisation under non-ideal conditions such as altered lighting, camera shifts, material changes and varied instructions.

RoboMIND open-source dataset hits 20 million downloads, tops industry rankings

RoboMIND, an open-source dataset released by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, powered by the "WISE KAIWU" platform, has surpassed 20 million global downloads within a single month – doubling its previous figure – while ranking first among industry peers in both download volume and market delivery capability. The center said, as the dataset, first released in December 2025, has made available over 300,000 bimanual manipulation trajectories covering more than 700 practical tasks for global developers to accelerate embodied AI perception, motion control algorithm development and scenario validation, backed by the center's long-established embodied AI robotics data and training base.

SENAD raises nearly 200 mln yuan in fourth funding round in six months

SENAD, a Chinese robotics company focused on logistics loading and unloading, has raised nearly 200 million yuan in a new funding round from Wuliangye Fund, China-US Venture Capital, Xingzheng Investment and Zhechuang Technology, marking its fourth financing round in six months. The influx of capital reflects growing investor conviction in "scenario-driven" AI applications in industrial logistics, as the embodied robotics sector shifts from proof of concept toward large-scale deployment and loading and unloading emerges as a key battleground for both manufacturers and investors given its clearly defined pain points and commercial path, the company said.
