China launches National Data Group in Xiong'an to boost data sector

China established National Data Group Co., Ltd. in Xiong’an New Area, Hebei province, on Oct. 20. The group is a central state-owned enterprise whose main responsibility is the development and utilization of data resources, with headquarters in Xiong’an.

The group was set up to advance data resource development and utilization, unlock the value of data elements, support artificial intelligence development and foster the data industry ecosystem, according to the company. After its establishment, it will strengthen central-local coordination and industrial collaboration under the guidance of relevant authorities, promote shared capabilities, experience and business expansion, and work to grow data value, strengthen the data industry and improve the data ecosystem.

    Galileo (Tianjin) Technology Co., Ltd.'s E1 series intelligent bionic quadruped robot has won a gold award at the 2026 Canton Fair Design Innovation Award (CF Award). The E1 series is fully self-developed by Galileo, with its complete machine structure, integrated servo joints and bionic gait and posture control algorithms 100% independently controllable. It holds more than 300 independent intellectual property rights. Equipped with all-terrain adaptive posture adjustment and force-sensing technology, the robot can autonomously identify unstructured complex terrain such as stairs, ramps and rubble. It is designed for applications including petrochemicals, power operation and maintenance, rail transit, emergency rescue and security patrol inspection.

  • Neolix raises nearly $400 mln in E round for autonomous delivery

    Neolix, an autonomous driving technology company, said it has completed an E round of nearly $400 million. The round was co-led by Boyu Capital and a national-level fund, with participation from Alibaba AEF NextGen Hong Kong Fund, Monolith, GGV Capital, Vertex Growth under Temasek and Gaohu Capital. Existing early and long-term shareholders including Leishi Capital, Trustar Capital, Gaocheng Investment, Yunqi Partners and SoftBank Asia also followed on. Neolix said its cumulative financing has exceeded 10 billion yuan, the largest in the unmanned delivery vehicle industry.

  • Shandong plans climbing-assist robots, AI-MR guides under tourism plan

    The Shandong Provincial People's Government has issued the province's 15th Five-Year Plan for tourism development, calling for deeper application of “AI plus tourism” and integration of artificial intelligence with Qilu cultural resources. The plan proposes exploring “embodied intelligence plus tourism” applications and supporting the deployment of climbing-assist robots in mountain scenic areas. It also calls for a new “AI plus mixed reality” guide and navigation model to build ultra-immersive experiences featuring virtual-real integration and real-time interaction.

  • Huawei's Hubble fund, Zhiyuan Robot affiliate take stakes in Yitai Embodied Technology

    Yitai Embodied Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. has added Shenzhen Hubble Technology Investment Partnership (Limited Partnership), an investment vehicle under Huawei, and Zhiyuan Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Zhiyuan Robot, as shareholders, according to a business registration change. The company's registered capital increased from 1 million yuan to about 1.27 million yuan. Founded in December 2025, Yitai Embodied Technology is legally represented by Yang Yeqing. Its business scope includes artificial intelligence basic software development, AI application software development and AI industry application system integration services. The company is now jointly held by Yang Yeqing, Beijing Yilitai Enterprise Management Services Partnership (Limited Partnership) and the newly added shareholders.

    YIMU Technology has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with South Korea's NEOUL ROBOTICS, a frontrunner in Physical AI, at a signing ceremony in Nanjing.   • Autonomous first place: HKUST and GENISOM AI win with Gangbeng L2

    A team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, working with GENISOM AI, won first place in the autonomous group for quadruped-wheeled robots at the 2026 Robot Warrior Challenge Autumn Competition in Beijing, the company said. GENISOM AI said its “GENISOM Gangbeng L2” robot, equipped with a robotic arm, competed in the autonomous operation category. The company said the result followed its “GENISOM Tongchui M1” platform’s six awards in the autonomous navigation category at the spring event, and showed its position in autonomous operation in complex, unstructured environments.

  • China's Guoyu Xingchen raises nearly 100 mln yuan in Series A funding

    Chinese space robotics startup Guoyu Xingchen has raised nearly 100 million yuan ($14 million) in a Series A round jointly invested by Yijing Capital, Fosun Chuangfu and Luyao Capital, the company said. The proceeds will focus on building space robot clusters and expanding commercialization, as the company seeks to accelerate China's in-orbit services from technical validation to scaled commercial delivery.
