PrimeBOT launches personal robots at IFA Berlin, targets home market with affordable modular designs

#2026 IFA, Berlin

PrimeBOT, a consumer embodied AI brand under SWANCOR, made its IFA debut on Thursday with two “personal robots” aimed at bringing robotics into households, a move the company said prioritises affordability and user engagement over industrial-grade performance.

The T1 and Q1 models are designed to be compact, lightweight, and priced to lower the barrier for home adoption, according to the company. At its booth, European parents were observed allowing children to interact freely with the robots, reflecting confidence in their safety and approachable design.

Beyond emotional companionship, the robots are positioned for practical daily uses including camping tracking, towing carts, and load-carrying, the company said.

Modular design and co-creation draw crowds

PrimeBOT’s booth, themed “PrimeGallery,” features a multi-language photo wall to explain the product category, followed by a dedicated experience zone for the T1. However, the Q1 model drew the most visitor attention, with three IFA special editions co-created with external designers.

The Q1 features a modular body and open creation capabilities. The company invited three creators from different fields: tech influencer Linus, who applied his iconic IP image to the robot; contemporary artist 00Zhan, who created an art edition with liquid-cooling aesthetics; and domestic 3D printing studio Orange Bean Creation, which produced a sci-fi lunar explorer-inspired version. The diverse designs drew crowds of onlookers taking photos, turning the booth into a popular spot.

“Previously, robots were standardised, but now we are focusing on individuality and co-creation,” a company representative said. “Involving users to turn robots into carriers of personal aesthetics and interests is more meaningful than just stacking specifications.”

Two IFA awards in debut year

On the awards front, PrimeBOT received two official IFA honours in its first appearance: the T1 won the IFA Innovation Achievement Award, recognising its leadership in content creation technology and its potential to become a new content carrier, bringing morphological innovation and experience upgrades to the creator ecosystem. The Q1 received the IFA Innovation Honor Award, which is given to brands with breakthrough innovation in cutting-edge technology, acknowledging PrimeBOT ‘s forward-looking positioning in personal robotics.

Pragmatic path to household adoption

A PrimeBOT overseas executive said: “Personal robots do not need to take on all household tasks from day one, nor must they immediately serve as labour. But they must create value. That value can start with interactive companionship, autonomous learning, and creative creation.”

The company’s pragmatic approach is to first win the ability to enter homes. “The first step for robots to truly serve families is not to pile on features, but to make users willing to keep them at home,” the executive added.

A microcosm of China’s embodied AI going global

PrimeBOT’s IFA debut is seen as a microcosm of China’s embodied intelligence industry expanding overseas. While robots have largely operated in industrial and commercial settings, the challenge of entering households and becoming consumer goods has been a key industry puzzle. PrimeBOT’s introduction of the “personal robot” category, along with an open ecosystem and co-creation programme, may offer a new model for the sector.
