ANYbotics launches ANYmal X, claims first legged inspection robot for explosive environments

ANYbotics AG has launched ANYmal X, which it says is the world’s first legged inspection robot certified for explosive environments. The Swiss robotics company said it carried out a full ignition-risk assessment across the robot’s service life and applied safety measures to every potential ignition source, with each component designed to minimize ignition risk. The AI computer and inspection equipment are enclosed in sealed, nitrogen-filled compartments, ANYbotics said. Non-metallic housings insulate metal parts, conductive feet provide grounding, and an automatic cut-off system monitors temperature. All 12 foot actuators and their batteries are protected by fireproof enclosures. Charging and data transfer employ energy barriers so they do not come into contact with hazardous areas. AGIBOT said the model is built on an embodied-native architecture that unifies understanding, prediction and action. Backed by Genie Evolver and Genie Master, it extends learning from pre-training to post-training and post-deployment, allowing robots to keep improving through experience interaction and real-world operations.

    The China Marine Economy Expo opened in Shenzhen, where the inaugural Ocean Star Industry Leadership Award was conferred on leading companies including SeaHi Robotics, China Merchants Group, CNOOC, Huawei, China Telecom and China Classification Society. The award was jointly presented by Peter Thomson, UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for the Ocean, and Lyu Bin, Chairman of the China Oceanic Development Foundation.   • WeRide's JingShuo to raise 70 mln yuan in pre-A round with Jiayu Capital, HKSTP, Sirius Capital

    WeRide disclosed the first financing progress of its subsidiary JingShuo Technology. JingShuo plans to bring in investors including Jiayu Capital, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Sirius Capital to complete a 70 million yuan ($9.8 million) pre-A funding round. Founded in Zhejiang in 2024, JingShuo aims to build data and world-model infrastructure for the physical AI era. The company has developed an integrated data-model platform called WorldEngine, a world model named GENESIS-Robotics and a data asset engine called SkillForge.

  • Unitree Robotics' nine-month revenue rises 55.7%; Q3 net profit falls 17.4%

    China's Unitree Robotics said in a filing on Oct. 28 that revenue for the first nine months of 2026 rose 55.71% year on year to 1.817 billion yuan.Net profit attributable to shareholders jumped 270.54% to 387 million yuan, while net profit excluding non-recurring items fell 18.78% to 349 million yuan.In the third quarter alone, revenue rose 69.93% to 665 million yuan, but net profit attributable to shareholders fell 17.37% to 113 million yuan and non-recurring-adjusted net profit fell 17.42% to 105 million yuan.
