Chinese researchers said they have developed MEgoVista, a framework that converts first-person, or ego, video into 4D motion data for training embodied AI models, addressing a gap between the growing supply of ego video and the precise motion data robots need. Maniformer will hold its largest launch event since its founding in Shanghai on Sept 23, unveiling “Maniformer Pai” globally and formally launching a body-free embodied data crowdsourcing platform for the general public. Maniformer Pai converts everyday human actions into training data for robots, the company said, allowing ordinary people without professional backgrounds to use spare time to participate in embodied intelligence data collection and earn income. The platform is intended to move robot training data collection from specialized work to broader social collaboration, the company said.
The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) opened in Beijing on Tuesday. Maniformer has featured at a special booth hosted by the Beijing Disabled Persons’Federation, themed “Digital Intelligence for Disability Assistance, Skills for a Better Life”. The display demonstrates new opportunities for people with disabilities to take part in robot training and gain income in daily life. Maniformer on Aug 31 rolled out its 20,000th MEgo untethered data‑collection unit, the industry’s first mass‑production milestone, while also surpassing 1 million hours of high‑quality untethered data, making it the first data‑service provider to commercially sell such a dataset at that scale.
