Maven Robotics raises $100 mln for general-purpose industrial robots

Maven Robotics, a California-based startup developing general-purpose robots for industrial work, said on Thursday it raised $100 million in Series A funding to expand its logistics and manufacturing platform. The round included RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures, among others. Maven will use the proceeds to scale deployments and advance its system as it moves beyond palletizing and tote handling into broader industrial tasks. The company cited U.S. labor shortages expected to worsen as demand grows.     Chinese humanoid robot maker UBTech said it has signed contracts with customers in major markets including Europe, Japan and South Korea, winning overseas orders worth more than 50 million yuan ($6.9 million). The orders include its commercial service humanoid robot Walker C1 and ultra-realistic humanoid robot U-World U1, according to UBTech.

The firm is now jointly held by Duan Jianghua, Aoli (Tianjin) Technology Partnership (Limited Partnership), and the newly added shareholder.
