GEWUAI, a Chinese embodied brain company, has completed an angel financing round of nearly 100 million yuan, the company said. Investors included Peak Investment, Hongfu Asset, Hangzhou Capital, Hangzhou Talent Group, a provincial-level embodied AI industrial investment platform and several leading listed companies.

Proceeds will be used mainly for large-scale pre-training and technology iteration of its Physical Inversion World Model, hardware and robot body development, talent recruitment and team expansion, and PoC validation and real-world data collection across multiple scenarios. Maple Pledge served as exclusive private equity financing adviser for the round.
GEWUAI is based in Hangzhou and was founded in August 2026. Its first round was backed by three Hangzhou municipal-level funds: Hangzhou Runmiao Fund, Hangzhou Disruptive Technology Transformation Fund and Hangzhou Talent Fund. It is an ecosystem partner of the National Embodied Intelligence Application Pilot-Testing Base and a member of the Hangzhou Innovation Embodied Intelligence Camp.
The company develops self-evolving dexterous manipulation intelligence for real industrial scenarios. Using a real-world closed loop of multimodal data centered on tactile and visual inputs, it has built a technology system comprising the Physical Inversion World Model and PSI Physical Self-Evolution. The system is designed to give robots an embodied brain with a “sense of touch,” allowing them to accumulate operating experience and turn “work tenure” into capability, so they adapt better to scenarios with continued use.
Among the investors, Peak Investment, a leading Chinese sports technology industrial group, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with GEWUAI. The companies will target footwear manufacturing requirements of “dual flexibility plus one high precision”—flexible manufacturing, flexible materials and sub-millimeter precision—to secure large-scale orders in the startup’s early stage and jointly advance technology deployment and industrial validation.
Founder and CEO Dr. Cai Jia graduated from the School of Astronautics at Northwestern Polytechnical University, where he studied under Professor Huang Panfeng, dean and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, focusing on on-orbit dexterous manipulation for space robots. He later joined Huawei’s 2012 Laboratories and Vehicle BU 2030 Lab, where he was deeply involved in core technology R&D and million-unit mass-production delivery for ADS 2.0 to 4.0 and pre-research for ADS 6.0. He led a 100-person team and served on Huawei’s Scientist Committee.
Cai has a combined background in space manipulation robots, autonomous driving mass production and world models. He brings experience in AI frontier technology incubation, breakthroughs in key technologies for complex intelligent systems and million-unit mass production, as well as systematic methodologies for data governance at the tens-of-millions-of-hours level and training on clusters of nearly 10,000 GPUs. He was one of the core participants in Huawei’s intelligent driving system from technical validation to mass-production delivery and has won Huawei’s highest individual technology award.
