Humanoid robotics company Figure has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Nscale, a UK-based AI cloud infrastructure provider, to deploy up to 100,000 GPUs on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform. The initial compute commitment is valued at $3.5 billion, with both parties intending to scale the deal to over $6 billion. First deployment is targeted for the second half of 2027 at Nscale’s data center in Barstow, Texas.
As part of the agreement, Nscale will also make a strategic equity investment in Figure and become its preferred compute provider. The two companies will explore using humanoid robots to expand Nscale’s own supply chain operations. Nscale, which counts NVIDIA as an investor following its participation in the firm’s Pre-Series C SAFE financing in October 2025 and its Series C round in March 2026, offers a vertically integrated AI infrastructure stack spanning GPU computing, high-speed networking, data services, and orchestration software.
Figure chief executive Brett Adcock said the company is currently “largely constrained by data and compute” needed to train its Helix vision-language-action model, and that the partnership provides the compute runway to train next-generation AI models. NVIDIA chief executive Jensen Huang said Nscale and Figure “have activated the robotics flywheel” – training models on NVIDIA Vera Rubin through Nscale’s AI cloud, validating them in NVIDIA Isaac Sim, and deploying them on NVIDIA GPUs in Figure’s robots.
Figure has been aggressively building its data pipeline. Last week, the company released Index, a crowdsourced dataset that has accumulated over 16 million videos across 108 countries and regions, with more than 44,000 weekly active users and 264,000 total downloads. The platform processes 35 minutes of video uploads every second. Per 1,000 hours of collected data, Index contains an average of 373 unique tasks, 1,146 manipulated objects, and 116 unique environments.
On the hardware front, Figure unveiled the Figure 03 humanoid last year – standing approximately 1.68 metres tall and weighing 61 kg, powered by the Helix model and featuring a soft fabric exterior with multi-layer density foam padding for home-use safety. Last month, Adcock posted a video on X showing the Figure 03 autonomously climbing stairs without remote control or pre-scripted sequences, demonstrating environment perception and whole-body dynamic balance.
