AGIBOT launches Worken metric, new robots and open-source embodied AI operating system

Chinese robot maker AGIBOT, unveiled a new metric for measuring the value of physical AI, alongside new hardware, models and an open-source operating system at its Innovation Day event in Shanghai on Oct. 29. Co-founder, President and CTO Peng Zhihui introduced Worken, or effective intelligent work hours, defined as active robots multiplied by autonomous working hours and an output efficiency ratio. The company said the metric aims to measure not only how many robots are produced, but whether they can autonomously and continuously perform valuable work and how much tangible value they actually deliver.   • WeRide's JingShuo to raise 70 mln yuan in pre-A round with Jiayu Capital, HKSTP, Sirius Capital

    WeRide disclosed the first financing progress of its subsidiary JingShuo Technology. JingShuo plans to bring in investors including Jiayu Capital, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Sirius Capital to complete a 70 million yuan ($9.8 million) pre-A funding round. Founded in Zhejiang in 2024, JingShuo aims to build data and world-model infrastructure for the physical AI era. The company has developed an integrated data-model platform called WorldEngine, a world model named GENESIS-Robotics and a data asset engine called SkillForge.

  • Unitree Robotics' nine-month revenue rises 55.7%; Q3 net profit falls 17.4%

    China's Unitree Robotics said in a filing on Oct. 28 that revenue for the first nine months of 2026 rose 55.71% year on year to 1.817 billion yuan.Net profit attributable to shareholders jumped 270.54% to 387 million yuan, while net profit excluding non-recurring items fell 18.78% to 349 million yuan.In the third quarter alone, revenue rose 69.93% to 665 million yuan, but net profit attributable to shareholders fell 17.37% to 113 million yuan and non-recurring-adjusted net profit fell 17.42% to 105 million yuan.

    Shenzhen underwater robot company CHASING has completed a C+ funding round of nearly 100 million yuan ($14 million), with investors including Shenzhen Guangju Investment Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Yunchuang Qizhen, among others. Founded in 2016 by Zhang Xun, Zhou Changgen and Yang Yang, CHASING develops underwater robots. Zhang was previously a senior expert in Huawei’s core algorithm department, Zhou served as quality operations director of Huawei’s Japan region, and Yang was a project manager for Huawei HiSilicon’s mobile chip unit.

    AGIBOT has established AGIBOT Embodied (Zhengzhou) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., with Deng Taihua as legal representative and registered capital of 1 million yuan ($140,000), according to company registration information. The subsidiary’s business scope includes intelligent robot research and development, sales of service consumer robots and intelligent robots, and AI application software development. It is wholly owned by AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., an affiliate of AGIBOT.
