The signing was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment; Ouyang Yongqin, advisor for Greater China affairs at the Ras Al Khaimah Ruler’s Office; Zhang Ju, chief financial officer of UBTECH Robotics; and Chen Xiaoyun, overseas sales director of UBTECH Robotics.

Under the plan, UBTECH will deploy humanoid robot products in Ras Al Khaimah and send a professional engineering team to run on-site demonstration projects. The projects will stress-test intelligent automation solutions in daily operations and harsh environments, accumulate key measured data and help Ras Al Khaimah strengthen high-tech research and development capacity and build the UAE’s robotics industry ecosystem.

In the first phase, the two sides will focus on validating humanoid robot performance in complex scenarios, including industrial automated assembly, intelligent public services, AI-assisted elderly care and cultural tourism services. Ras Al Khaimah will provide a sandbox testing environment and a forward-looking regulatory framework to promote collaboration between research institutions and industry. UBTECH will contribute its robot platforms, technical infrastructure and R&D capabilities to advance project implementation.

The two sides will use Ras Al Khaimah as a regional platform to validate the performance of humanoid robot systems in real applications in the UAE and the wider Gulf region. Ras Al Khaimah’s climate and operating conditions will support long-term durability testing under high temperatures, high solar exposure and dust.

“This cooperation is an important step in Ras Al Khaimah’s transition to a knowledge-based economy. By integrating world-class humanoid robot technology with local real-world scenarios, both sides will jointly create replicable and scalable innovative solutions that deliver lasting value for local communities, businesses and the UAE as a whole,” Ouyang said.

UBTECH said it will combine frontier humanoid robot research, climate-adaptation testing and industry talent development to accelerate industrial modernization and smarter public services in Ras Al Khaimah, support the emirate’s economic transition and contribute to the UAE’s robotics industry ecosystem.
