Lightwheel and Unitree Robotics have signed a strategic partnership to combine Lightwheel’s infrastructure capabilities in data, evaluation and deployment with Unitree’s strengths in robot bodies, motion control, perception systems, force-controlled dexterous hands and its developer ecosystem. The companies said they will cooperate on model training, robot capability validation and real-world applications.

The partnership links two key links in physical AI: infrastructure and robot hardware. It focuses on the industry’s core challenge of scaling robot deployment. The companies aim to create a model for deep coordination between physical AI infrastructure and robot bodies, connecting data production, training and validation, real-world deployment and continuous iteration to support large-scale robot rollout and accelerate the shift from technology breakthroughs to commercial applications.
Under the cooperation, the companies will work on specific tasks using Unitree robots with different degrees of freedom, payload capacities, sensor configurations and end effectors, alongside Lightwheel’s high-quality, diverse and large-scale human video data and simulated synthetic data. They will explore how embodied data can better meet robot learning needs.
The companies will also combine Unitree’s experience in robot structure, motion control and manipulation with Lightwheel’s SimFoundry full-stack self-developed simulation platform to explore physical training and validation environments matched to robot characteristics, control requirements and actual tasks.
The partnership is intended to deepen the integration of infrastructure capabilities and robot product capabilities and build a complete support system for embodied intelligence spanning technology research and development, capability validation and scenario deployment. The companies said they will use the partnership as a starting point to advance infrastructure and robot-body innovation, explore industrial pathways for real-world deployment and turn embodied AI technology advantages into application value, contributing to the global physical AI industry.
