ModelBest’s MiniCPM5-2B tops Hugging Face trending, leads sub-4B open-source models

Chinese AI developer ModelBest said its MiniCPM5-2B model has ranked No. 1 on Hugging Face’s Trending list and first among global open-source models under 4 billion parameters on Artificial Analysis, with a composite score of 23.

With 2 billion parameters, the model can handle agentic tasks including tool calling, deep search and code generation, ModelBest said. It marks an early prototype of a general-purpose on-device agent.

    Chinese humanoid robot maker UBTech said it has signed contracts with customers in major markets including Europe, Japan and South Korea, winning overseas orders worth more than 50 million yuan ($6.9 million). The orders include its commercial service humanoid robot Walker C1 and ultra-realistic humanoid robot U-World U1, according to UBTech.

The firm is now jointly held by Duan Jianghua, Aoli (Tianjin) Technology Partnership (Limited Partnership), and the newly added shareholder.
