UBTECH Robotics has officially opened its super smart factory for industrial humanoid robots in Liuzhou, Guangxi, billed globally as the first benchmark manufacturing facility built to support annual output of up to 10,000 humanoid units.

UBTECH launches world’s first 10,000-unit scale humanoid robot smart manufacturing plant in Liuzhou

Spanning 14,000 square meters with a height of 13.8 meters, the plant will primarily produce the firm’s Walker S and Cruzr series embodied AI industrial humanoid robots. Under its designed production cycle, one humanoid robot can roll off the assembly line every 10 minutes, with a planned annual capacity exceeding 10,000 units.

Powered by intelligent planning via industrial simulation systems and full-domain orchestration through a digital “smart brain”, the facility realises a new quality productive forces model of “robots building robots”. The milestone marks China’s humanoid robot sector moving past technical prototypes and small-batch trials into a new phase of large-scale, standardised and digital mass production.

UBTECH partnered with Siemens to build a custom digital manufacturing foundation exclusively for humanoid production. The platform addresses key mass-production bottlenecks of humanoid robots: vast numbers of components, frequent material handling, stringent assembly tolerances and rapid product iteration. Under the scheduling of full-range digital systems, multiple self-developed embodied AI humanoid robots are deployed deep within production workflows to build human-machine collaborative manufacturing scenarios.

In just over a year, the Liuzhou base has delivered a remarkable track record, advancing from producing its first unit to thousand-volume serial production and now ten-thousand-unit capacity. It embodies Liuzhou’s differentiated industrial strategy: “R&D in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, system integration in Guangxi, and real-world deployment across ASEAN”. The project stands as a prime example of deep integration between UBTECH and Liuzhou’s manufacturing sector, setting a fresh benchmark for the city’s AI terminal and robotics industry.

The factory’s commissioning will accelerate Liuzhou’s transition from a traditional industrial hub into a demonstration zone for new-style industrialisation, injecting robust momentum into the city’s push to build advanced manufacturing strengths. Leveraging its technology, brand and ecosystem advantages, UBTECH will deploy full-stack humanoid robot technologies into more industrial use cases in Liuzhou, attracting upstream and downstream suppliers to cluster locally. Together, they aim to construct a more complete, resilient industrial chain and build a new intelligent robotics hub rooted in Guangxi, serving domestic markets and reaching across ASEAN.
