Changsha Changtai Robotics secures EU CE certification for embodied AI winding robot, a first for Chinese industrial embodied AI

Changsha Changtai Robotics Co., Ltd. has obtained EU CE certification for its self-developed embodied intelligence winding robot, making it the first Chinese industrial embodied AI robot product to receive the certification, which grants the company regulatory clearance to enter the European market, the company said. Founded in 2010 and recognised as a national-level “Little Giant” enterprise specialising in R&D and manufacturing of intelligent high-end equipment under Hunan Zhongnan Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Changtai Robotics previously developed “Changsha No. 1”, Hunan province’s first industrial robot with fully independent intellectual property rights.

Chinese service robots draw spotlight at IFA 2026 with laundry, climbing and gardening capabilities

Chinese companies showcased a range of service robots at the IFA 2026 consumer electronics fair in Berlin, drawing attention as the integration of artificial intelligence with multiple technologies enables robots to penetrate deeper into daily life and diverse application scenarios, with wheeled service robots capable of recognising, sorting, washing and folding garments, a climbing cleaning robot using bionic tracks and 3D perception to navigate between floors, and a lawn-mowing robot equipped with a robotic arm for clearing obstacles, picking fruit and watering plants – illustrating how Chinese manufacturers are expanding robotic functionality beyond single-purpose automation toward multi-task household and commercial environments.

HiDream.ai launches embodied world model HiDream-O1-Embodied, tops RoboColiseum robustness leaderboard

HiDream.ai has released HiDream-O1-Embodied, an embodied world model built on a native full-modal architecture that unifies image, video, 3D and action signals into a single representation framework to enhance robotic physical perception and dynamic prediction capabilities, the company said, marking a strategic step toward building a unified world model foundation that bridges understanding, reasoning and execution across modalities; concurrently, the model made its debut on the embodied AI evaluation platform RoboColiseum – a simulation-based benchmark featuring 78 high-fidelity tasks across instruction following, spatial understanding, robustness and general manipulation – and topped the Robustness sub-leaderboard with an average score of 0.692, a category widely regarded as the most challenging for testing stability and generalisation under non-ideal conditions such as altered lighting,...

RoboMIND open-source dataset hits 20 million downloads, tops industry rankings

RoboMIND, an open-source dataset released by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, powered by the “WISE KAIWU” platform, has surpassed 20 million global downloads within a single month – doubling its previous figure – while ranking first among industry peers in both download volume and market delivery capability. The center said, as the dataset, first released in December 2025, has made available over 300,000 bimanual manipulation trajectories covering more than 700 practical tasks for global developers to accelerate embodied AI perception, motion control algorithm development and scenario validation, backed by the center’s long-established embodied AI robotics data and training base.

ACE ROBOTICS open-sources ACE-Ego-Hand for 3D hand reconstruction from egocentric video, claims 45 benchmark wins

ACE ROBOTICS, in collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Multimedia Laboratory and Nanyang Technological University, has open-sourced ACE-Ego-Hand, a 3D dual-hand shape reconstruction model designed for first-person video, generating approximately 5,000 hours of training data that could serve as a foundational dataset for embodied AI model training. The model extracts structured 3D bimanual manipulation trajectories from massive egocentric video footage, translating human grasping, assembly and hand-coordination actions into machine-learnable data. It marks the first time a video generation model has been repurposed as a DreamHand encoder for end-to-end training, outputting hand pose, shape and 3D position in a single forward pass without frame-by-frame detection or temporal regression. Efficiency gains over traditional approaches Unlike previous hand models reliant on...

Huawei chip architect Tingbo He publishes third paper on 'τ-law', says 3D-stacked chip runs cooler despite transistor density jump

Tingbo He, head of semiconductor research at Huawei Technologies, published a new academic paper on Thursday addressing concerns about heat dissipation in 3D-stacked chips, marking the company’s third paper on its “τ-law” chip design philosophy in less than four months. The latest paper, titled “Huawei’s τ Chip Was Supposed to Melt?”, responds to scepticism that folding circuits into three dimensions would inevitably lead to higher power density and thermal issues. “Heat is the most troublesome hidden concern of the τ-law,” She wrote. “Inside the chip, the main energy consumption does not come from computation itself, but from data transfer.” Contrary to expectations that circuit folding would dramatically increase transistor density and power density, the paper argues that folding actually reduces...

SENAD raises nearly 200 mln yuan in fourth funding round in six months

SENAD, a Chinese robotics company focused on logistics loading and unloading, has raised nearly 200 million yuan in a new funding round from Wuliangye Fund, China-US Venture Capital, Xingzheng Investment and Zhechuang Technology, marking its fourth financing round in six months. The influx of capital reflects growing investor conviction in “scenario-driven” AI applications in industrial logistics, as the embodied robotics sector shifts from proof of concept toward large-scale deployment and loading and unloading emerges as a key battleground for both manufacturers and investors given its clearly defined pain points and commercial path, the company said.

Musk predicts 1 billion humanoid robots within a decade, $30 trillion AI boost to global economy

Elon Musk, chief executive of Tesla and SpaceX, predicted on Tuesday that artificial intelligence could expand the global economy by 20% to 30%, generating up to $30 trillion in annual economic output, while forecasting that at least 1 billion humanoid robots would emerge within the next decade. “The productivity gains from AI are already evident, and robotics will take that to a completely new level,” Musk said via video link at the G20 summit in Asheville, North Carolina. “To put this in perspective, I think AI could increase the size of the global economy by 20% to 30% – that’s a rough estimate – which means roughly $20 trillion to $30 trillion per year in additional output”. Musk expressed his...

Xiaomi's CyberOne humanoid robot makes overseas debut at IFA, new version already in factory trials

Xiaomi’s CyberOne humanoid robot drew crowds of visitors and media at its first overseas exhibition during the IFA consumer electronics fair here, with the robot responding to onlookers with waves and victory signs. The Chinese tech giant originally unveiled the full-size humanoid bionic robot, internally codenamed “Tie Da”, in August 2022. The first-generation model stands 177 cm tall, weighs 52 kg, and features 21 degrees of freedom with 0.5-millisecond real-time response, powered by Xiaomi’s self-developed bionic perception, biomechatronic fusion and artificial intelligence technologies. This year, Xiaomi introduced a new-generation humanoid robot, also named “Tie Da”, which made its first public appearance at the World Robot Conference 2026 in Beijing. The new version stands approximately 170 cm tall, weighs 66 kg,...
