Hangzhou-based Westlake Robotics, a developer of general-purpose robot brain systems, said it has completed an A1 funding round worth hundreds of millions of yuan. Investors included Haiyuan Capital, Cuiwei Fund, Ginkgo Valley Capital, Westlake Sci-Tech Innovation Investment and Zhongshan Venture Capital.
The company said proceeds from the Series A funding will focus on three core areas: developing WR1, a general embodied foundation model integrating whole-body motion and manipulation; expanding commercialization across multiple embodied intelligence scenarios; and accelerating the building of a talent pool in embodied intelligence.
