China's AGIBOT wins WIC award as embodied AI moves onto factory floors

The 2026 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit opened in Zhejiang province on Nov 3, with Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivering a keynote address. At the opening ceremony, AGIBOT received the WIC Distinguished Contribution Award for what the conference described as systematic technological breakthroughs and industrial deployment in embodied AI.

“The endgame of AI lies not in screens and the cloud, but on factory floors and in everyday life,” Zhu Jie, AGIBOT partner and senior vice president, said at the award ceremony. Zhu said competition in embodied AI had moved beyond isolated technology races to a broader contest spanning software-hardware coordination, engineering rollout, industrial organization and governance. AGIBOT would remain pragmatic and work with partners on real-world deployment, Zhu added.

The WIC Distinguished Contribution Award was launched in 2024 to recognise individuals and companies for outstanding contributions in internet-related fields. Over the past two years, it has honoured 12 industry leaders and 26 companies across internet platforms, mobile communications, AI and chip design, according to the conference. The award is intended to spotlight companies that have moved technology into commercial products and generated measurable commercial and social benefits.

AGIBOT says its “three-intelligence-in-one” embodied AI architecture integrates motion, task and interaction intelligence. The company also introduced Worken, which it describes as the first metric dedicated to quantifying physical AI value. Worken measures effective intelligent working hours based on active robot fleet size, autonomous operating duration and output efficiency ratio, according to AGIBOT. The company says the metric is designed to help the sector move from technology concepts toward scalable deployment.

In digital AI, tokens are used to measure large-model consumption and commercial scale. AGIBOT argues that no widely accepted standard has existed for measuring robotic value in physical environments, and says Worken is meant to fill that gap.

AGIBOT says it is advancing deployment through self-developed hardware, its three core intelligence modules and an open-source ecosystem. In-house hardware provides the production base, while motion, task and interaction intelligence are intended to support generalisation across tasks, the company says. Its open ecosystem is aimed at making robotic work value measurable, capabilities cumulative and deployments scalable.

The company says its robots have been deployed in manufacturing, retail, hospitality and cultural tourism. G2 robots operate on Longqi manufacturing lines; X2 robots serve Aishida stores nationwide; A3 robots are deployed at Shangri-La hotels; and AGIBOT’s full lineup is active at Hengqin Chimelong Spaceship Park.

AGIBOT said the award recognised its technology roadmap and industrial execution. It will continue to balance open technology sharing with commercial rollout and work with global partners to turn physical AI from laboratory demonstrations into daily value across industries.
